Emergency services were alerted to the leak about 6am Wednesday, following a strong smell of gas within the building.
The leak was isolated shortly before 7am.
TFS crews are continuing to monitor air quality at the scene.
The affected building and several surrounding it have been evacuated.
A cordon around the affected buildings was lifted by Tasmania Police about 8.30am.
EARLIER: Emergency services are on the scene of a potential gas leak within the Brighton industrial hub, in the state's South.
Police have advised that all traffic and workers from within the area will be diverted away until further notice.
There are no reported injuries at this stage and further information will be provided once it becomes available, police say.
