The Meander Valley Council has received a letter of confirmation, but not the grant deed.
Budgeted money has been allocated to the Westbury Recreation Ground upgrades, with $6.85 million given, Nationals Senator Steve Martin said.
"This involves a complete site redevelopment including, new club rooms, meeting rooms, a commercial kitchen area and the upgrade of existing change rooms to cater for growing users, travelling teams, umpires, and female participants," he said.
A $235,000 sports grant has also been given to the Westbury Bowls Club for a "major upgrade".
The Nationals in Government are providing $200,000 for a new synthetic green and $35,000 for a heating and plumbing overhaul in a building that dates back to 1981," Senator Martin said.
"This is a valued community asset."
The need for the upgrade was raised with Senator Martin by several locals when he was door knocking in Westbury last year, he said. Federal Sports Minister Bridget McKenzie then visited the site.
Hadspen will also receive $225,000 for a centralised play area.
"Hadspen is an urban growth area experiencing the early stages of development that will see a doubling of the population," Senator Martin said. "The development of this play area and public toilet facility is in response to vastly increasing community demand."
Senator Martin said the commitments were all about his agenda to get a fair share regional Tasmania and help build stronger communities.
Meander Valley mayor Wayne Johnston welcomed the funding.
The money is in the budget, but the council has not received the grant deed yet. This means if Labor is elected before the deed is signed, they do not have to commit the funds.
"It will improve the facilities in those three areas ad in other areas of the municipality as well," Cr Johnston said.
"We welcome any funding and know we can spend it wisely."
