Now in its 15th year, this year's stellar lineup includes more than 150 events and performances which promise to transform Hobart and the east coast into a winter carnival of song.
Festival Director Peter Choraziak said Festival of Voices is all about celebrating singing and encouraging people to participate.
"Whether you sing in a choir or in the car, Festival of Voices welcomes you and invites you to sing. It is a joyful time to be in Tasmania," he said.
The nationally-recognised choral program remains at the heart of the festival with a host of workshops, performances and pop-up events.
The program also features contemporary, cabaret, jazz and classical singing artists including global singing sensation Dami Im, indie rock stars Holy Holy and the Australian Voices.
Visiting choirs include the Shanghai Little Star Chorus, ACPA Gospel Choir and Pasefika Vitoria Choir.
The Big Sing Bonfire makes a hotly-anticipated return while the ever-popular Tasmania Sings event will be the biggest ever with over 600 school students taking part over two nights.
Also, for the first time this year, NoHo Sessions at the North Hobart Uniting Church will feature a treasure trove of Australian contemporary artists including the critically-acclaimed Queenie Van de Zandt performing Joni Mitchell classics.
North Hobart's State Cinema will co-present sing-along movie screenings, and Michaela Burger's masterpiece 'A Migrant's Son' will perform direct from a sell-out season at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
Mr Choraziak said the Festival was continuing to grow in popularity and events regularly sold out so Festival goers should book early to avoid disappointment.
"Our aim is to surprise and delight Festival goers with the depth and variety of our program. It's a celebration of the voice in all its genres," he said.
