The heat didn't stop people of all ages taking part in the annual Run for a Wish event on Saturday, with many turning up to get active for a good cause.

Runners took part in a number of different races, with a kids event early on followed by 3.2km and 6.4km races leaving from UTAS Stadium.
Make a Wish Launceston branch president Priscilla Busch said over 25 volunteers helped make a safe and successful morning.
"It really brings the community together as a whole," she said.

The foundation grants many wishes to children in Northern Tasmania, with 27 across the state last year.
Ms Busch said these ranged from one girl who wanted to fly with fairies, to another who wanted to travel to visit the theme parks on Queensland's Gold Coast.
"These wishes not only help the children, they help these families spend quality time together."
Now in its eight year, Ms Busch estimated the event had raised more than $170,000 since its inception.
Melinda Ferrier, a Make a Wish volunteer and Run for a Wish committee member, has been involved since the beginning.
Ms Ferrier said they could never have imagined the run could have taken the form it now has taken.
