Cameron Alan McLarty Gillies, 24, pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court in Launceston on Friday to one count of trafficking a controlled substance.
The manager of Lonnies Niteclub spotted Gillies exchanging items with a woman at the back bar just after midnight on August 12 last year, and he was escorted to the venue's staff room by security while they waited for police.
Gillies was seen to hide items in a bin in the staff room, later found to be ziplock bags containing 44 pink pills and 14 clear capsules with powder, all a combination of MDMA and MDA.
He also had $219 from sales that night.
Further empty ziplock bags were found in his pockets.
His potential profit for the night was $464, the court was told.
Messages relating to drug trafficking were found on his mobile phone, covering from July 1 to August 12, 2018.

The messages related to the total purchase and sale of at least 200 pills and capsules, which police alleged he attempted to sell.
Gillies told police he arranged to buy the drugs from a person in the Birchalls car park for $12 each, then sold the pills and capsules for $20 each.
He said he usually buys the same amount and has 10 left at the end of the night, but sold out on one occasion. The arrangement earned him "a couple of hundred" dollars each weekend.
Gillies had largely the same buyers, including friends and acquaintances, but also some "random" people who would approach him while in the nightclub. Buyers would usually purchase between two and six pills and capsules.
The court was told Gillies started selling drugs on the weekend after losing his employment.
He will be sentenced in the Supreme Court in Launceston on Tuesday.
