Coach Scott Gowans has revealed the 26-year-old former Burnie Docker would spend time away from her role marshalling the Roos' defence, returning to the middle to help counteract Melbourne's star-studded midfield, which features the likes of Elise O'Dea, Karen Paxman and Lilly Mithen in Sunday's clash at Casey Fields.
"I think they are so talented in there you can't ignore what their main strength is,'' he said.
"We just have to make sure we win that contested ball against them and Britt just brings that unpredictable pressure that you just need to set the standard in there.
"I just think when we do flick her in there we'll know what we will get. She won't know the structures as well as the others, as we have been playing her as a half-back flanker, but this week, and probably next week against Adelaide we are really going to need her pressure influence from inside that stoppage.
"The leadership as well is huge because that also brings in the communication from that group and while (Emma) Kearney, (Jamie) Stanton, (Jenna) Bruton and (Ash) Riddell, when she plays, they all do that, I just feel having a boisterous type of leader in there as well will just enhance the enthusiasm to keep the focus of what we need to do.
"I think by playing her there and at least getting contact inside the stoppage that we can half it or win it and the ball will come out to our runners and we are off."
Only three Tasmanian names were on the team sheet, with Clarence's Nicole Bresnehan out with a wrist injury and Emma Humphries and Chloe Haines on the bench.
