Junior athletes from all corners of the state will make a beeline for St Leonards on Saturday when Northern Athletics Centre hosts the little athletics state relay championships.
More than 450 participants from as far west as Burnie, east as St Helens and south as Huon will compete in age brackets spanning under-6 to under-15.
Several records are expected to be pushed - particularly in the 4x100 races - while Burnie sprinter Chelsea Scolyer looks one to watch having recently broken the under-13 state 100m record.
The championships will also include Swedish relays, where teams of four compete over 1000m sharing 100m, 300, 200m and 400m legs.
"It's very keenly contested," Little Athletics president Rhonda O’Sign said.
"It's the only teams event that we have, so we have a lot of interest from our athletes to attend and we've got a high number of teams from all our centres across Tasmania."
The relay state titles will run between 9am and 2.30pm, and come two months before Tasmania hosts the under-13 and under-15 little athletics national championships on April 27 and 28.
