The show will be performed in Launceston and Bridport – but there’s a twist for the North-East event. The Launceston show will be a straight-up performance by the country music stars, preceded by a “Nashville round-style” show in Bridport.
“All three artists will be on stage at the same time,” said co-organiser Nathan Talbot.
“They sit in a row, and they each take a turn at singing their song and telling the story about their song, and pass to the next artist, and it keeps going for two hours.
“It’s a storytelling show and you get to understand the song, and you get a variety of performances.
“The appeal is variety and surprise and getting to learn the story behind the songs – the artists speak as much as they sing.”
Arna Georgia and Hayley Marsten will be the artists, with Esk River Rising supporting in Launceston and Pete Cornelius the additional act in Bridport.
Mr Talbot said he was a fan of the two main acts himself, and always endeavored to bring artists over for the Tin Cup Country series that he was personally enthusiastic about.
“It’s very rewarding to see people playing in Tasmania who wouldn't otherwise,” he said.
The Tin Cup Country music series started in October 2017, with the February show being the fourth run.
This time, Mr Talbot will be involved in more ways than one – he’s formed a band, Esk River Rising, who will play for the first time at the February show in Launceston.
The band is made up of Nathan Talbot, Hannah Lawes, Zac Jessup, and Andrew Richardson
“We’re all friends, and we just wanted to throw something together and play as support, with some great covers and a few originals,” he said.
