The Hurricanes head into the game against the Scorchers off back-to-back losses against the Sydney Sixers.
Briggs said the selection panel was not decided on the best lineup for the fixture.
“We will have to revisit that again today, we have to look at who are the key contributors and look at their team,” Briggs said
“We need to work on our match-ups and figure out how we can get one over on them.
“We have got plenty of options and I still the way we are playing, particularly with our batting, so I want us to be explosive and risk free.”
Briggs said she felt the team was well-placed in both weekend losses to the Sixers, believing the loss of early wickets in the power play proving too much to overcome.
“I say I am pretty disappointed over the weekend because they are the reigning holders and we were in good winning positions in both of their games.
“When you look at the pitch we were on yesterday and one really short side boundary, you think 160 is really getable.
“When you lose four wickets in the powerplay, you are always climbing back, but when we were 80-odd, G (Georgia Redmayne) and Brooke (Hepburn) put a fantastic partnership together and it was a credit to our side.
Wicket-keeper batter Georgia Redmayne was the Hurricanes star in the second loss to the Sixers and she said she just tried to take the game as deep as possible.
“Obviously when I came in, we were quite a few wickets down and with the partnerships with the batters hat came in, the run rate was not ridiculous and we just tried to take the game as late as we could,” Redmayne said.
“You never know what could happen in the final over with edges going for fours and anything can happen in the final over.
“It was a big ask, but I was disappointed and a bit gutted not get us a bit closer and get us home.”
The Hurricanes have released 13-player squad for the Tuesday’s match against the Perth Scorchers at Blundstone Arena in Hobart.
20-year-old batter Mikayla Hinkley will make her Hurricanes debut if she is selected in the final XI after joining last week as an injury replacement for all-rounder Emma Thompson.
Hinkley played in two WBBL campaigns with the Sydney Thunder before playing for the Perth Scorchers.
