Tasmania Police has recovered more than $2000 worth of stolen property during the last fortnight.

A significant amount of the property has been returned to its rightful owners, police said.
Senior Sergeant Justin Bidgood said both youth and adults had been charged with property related offences and prohibited from returning to the affected businesses.
A 20-year-old Invermay woman was charged with 10 stealing offences, one aggravated burglary offence and dishonesty to acquire a financial advantage. The stolen property value was $1400. She has been remanded in custody to reappear at a later date.
Police have been involved in detecting the selling of stolen property through social media, with searches of homes regularly occurring.
“The prevention and detection of shop stealing continues to be a priority of Tasmania Police and the task force would like to thank retail operators and the community for their ongoing contribution to this effort,” Senior Sergeant Bidgood said.
Anyone with information which relates to shop stealing and the location of stolen property is asked to contact the Launceston Police Shop Stealing Task Force by calling Launceston Police station.
