Justice Gregory Geason told the jury the court was unable to use the recording equipment because of the outage and the trial was adjourned until Thursday morning.
The trial began on Tuesday and accused killer Belinda Leone Colbran pleaded not guilty to murdering Aaron Matthew Monaco.
A jury of nine men and three women were empanelled on Tuesday morning.
Crown Prosecutor John Ransom is expected to make his opening statement when the trial continues at 10am on Thursday.
