Thousands of photos of Michael Ferguson’s face emblazoned with the word ‘fail’ stood on Parliament House lawns on Sunday to represent each person who had signed a petition which has called for his resignation.

The petition was launched by Labor eight years ago and 3300 signatures have been collected through parliamentary members’ electorate offices and from people off the street.
Labor health spokeswoman Sarah Lovell said Mr Ferguson had led the health system to a crisis point over five years in the role.
Labor leader Rebecca White said the action had been prompted by stories from people who have failed Mr Ferguson or the health system had failed them.
Government minister Sarah Courtney said the stunt was another example of Labor's ongoing politicisation of the health portfolio.
"Michael Ferguson is doing a brilliant job in a challenging portfolio," she said.
Greens leader Cassy O'Connor said there were too few people for the Liberals to draw upon to fill portfolios due to low parliamentarian numbers.
