The Tasmanian 15-and-under team won the Australian Schools Championships.
Teams from seven states and territories converged on Sydney to contest the championship. Hosted by The Coast Golf Club the event saw juniors play two rounds of competitive golf as well as attend the Australian Open and explore Sydney.
Arriving last Monday, the teams were eager to get out for a practise round to get to know the course.
Although sunny, the wind played havoc on Tuesday and made scoring tough during round 1.
Wednesday was a rest day as the juniors were treated to watching their idols at the Pro-Am for the Australian Open.
The final round got underway early Thursday morning in windy wet conditions proving to be another difficult day for scoring.
After two days of competition the Tasmanian team proved too good for the rest of the field and clinched the championship with 396 stableford points, just three points more than the team from the ACT.
Rounding out the top three were the juniors from the Northern Territory who finished with a team total of 384.
The team included five players from across the North and three from the South.
