And on Saturday about 400 people are expected to do just that in a spooky fashion parade at Penny Royal Adventures.
The venue is planning its third annual wicked Halloween Party.
Fancy dress competitions and some haunting times on the Dark Ride are expected, Penny Royal managing director Dean Cocker said.
“It’s $5 entry and the kids get to go on the Dark Ride with their parents and also go in the jumping castle as well as a trick or treat bucket in the shape of a jack o’lantern,” he said.
“And we’ve also got the costume parade which will be exciting for everyone and has some great prizes up for grabs.”
The children’s fashion parade will be held at 6.30pm, with the adults taking place at 8.30pm.
A pumpkin carving challenge will see the competition squashed.
“The best pumpkin gets a prize which is a penny royal pass. The first, second and third placegetters in the costume parade get an annual pass, a parks pass and a penny royal pass to do the different adventures,” Mr Cocker said.
The adventure venue will be full of things to do for young and old, including things to eat, drink and be scary.
“We’ve got some great menus for people that have a Halloween theme like ‘death by chocolate’,” Mr Cocker said.
“With so many people coming it is always good to book a spot at the restaurants, but we will be accepting people at the gate.”
Mr Cocker said the family-fun event would have a little bit “extra fun”.
“I think the two previous Halloweens we’ve run a lot of families enjoy their kids dressing up, and the parents as well, and getting into the spirit of a fancy dress occasion,” he said.
The Halloween spooktacular will start at 6pm and costs $5.
