A team from bikesales will embarked on a three-day journey from Devonport on Monday, October 22 to determine the winner of each category.
Covering more than 900 kilometres, the trip will include stops at Bicheno and Queenstown, before finishing back at Devonport.
For bikesales.com.au editor Mark Fattore, Tasmania provides the ideal backdrop for the awards.
“Tasmania was chosen as the destination to determine our 2018 overall winner due to the quality and versatility of the state’s roads, plus the scenery is spectacular, creating perfect riding conditions,” he said.
Nine judges will adjudicate 11 categories using criteria such as engine and drivetrain, brakes and handling, build quality, value for money, and fit for purpose.
The winner of each category qualifies for the overall prize.
The three-day Tasmanian mega-test will reduce the number of finalists to three, with the overall winner to be announced at the Melbourne Moto Expo on Friday, November 23.
