Schnauzer walks will be held all over the world and in Australia for the first time this weekend to raise funds for the Australian schnauzer rescues providing medical treatment and rehabilitating puppy farm dogs and rescue dogs. 

Tasmanian event organiser Stella Laker said she has been making prizes and cakes for the day. 

“The event originated in the UK five years ago as a series of schnauzer walks. This year Australia has been included,” she said. 

“There will be 56 walks all over the UK and Australia will host eight walks amongst five state.”

The meet will start at Ross Bridge carpark and take a picturesque walk on the river path, then through the back streets of Ross and down the Main Street at 10.30am. 

There is no set fee to take part in any schnauzerfest walk, everyone is welcome to give as little, or as much as they choose through the ‘honesty box’.
