On Friday, the first day of the 10-day Launceston Festival of Dance got underway.
Festival secretary Leah Carr said this year’s entry numbers were slightly down on previous years, but not by much.
A range of genres will be covered throughout the festival, she said.
“We’ve got a full range starting from under 6s and then everything from tap, classical, character, jazz, Broadway, solos, duos, trios and groups,” she said.
“We mix sections up across each day, so if people do come and watch they’re getting a bit of everything.”
The festival is open to the public, with tickets available at the door. The festival finishes on October 6.
