I STILL cannot believe the honey tampering incidents in the media recently.

How can these big supermarkets get away with what they are doing?
They are decimating the dairy farmers with their cheap milk. They will now decimate the growers by allowing tampered honey on their shelves.
I was reared on honey, I loved creamed honey plastered on bread.
Nutritionists and doctors are urging us to eat it as it contains natural healing ingredients.
Now after hearing what is put into honey, I am really concerned what these substances are doing to our health.
All of this just to make extra millions of dollars just to please their investors.
No one knows how many hundreds, perhaps thousands of items in the supermarkets that have been diluted just to make the almighty dollar.
Hello folks, I think it’s about time that we boycotted these big supermarkets asnd supported the core shops who produce and acquire the genuine products.

Body Bequest Program
It was reassuring to read Final Act by Libby Bingham (The Examiner, September 8) describing the successful operation of the UTAS Body Bequest program.
My wife and I have registered to donate our bodies.
I was a medical student in 1956-57 undertaking anatomical dissection in the second and third years of the Melbourne medical school program for trainee doctors.
I can still remember the shock at seeing for the first time a room full of bodies, the first time I had seen a corpse.
The body allocated to our group of six students was almost certainly a seaman, heavily built with an astonishing collection of tattoos.
Over the year we became quite attached, very caring and very grateful to this man for giving us the opportunity to learn and understand how we worked.
He provided us with invaluable information which we needed, and used when, on graduation and further training, we were required to operate on living people.
I’m sure current students will feel the same emotions as they continue this ancient tradition.

National Anthem
NOT standing for the accepted Australian national anthem of this wonderful country.
This is a blatant case of parental child abuse, hiding behind a child to highlight their own agenda.
At the age of nine, a child has no rights in setting policies in these matters, she is in a public school sponsored by the taxpayers of this country.
She is responsible like all the rest, to obey the rules set down by the school and the education department.
What a low cowardly act to push a defenceless child in to such a contentious and divisive path.
To claim it is her idea is an absolute nonsense.
If you personally do not agree with the words in the anthem, protest, write letters to the paper.
But for heaven’s sake it is a disgrace to use your daughter as a pawn for your own agenda. Teach her pride and respect.

Hot Pies, Cold Dogs
SEVEN feet tall, size 17 feet,
Big Mason Cox is clearly elite,
The Pies cannot lose,
Unless he plays in the Magoos,
Or Bucks turns him into hot dog meat.

Misguided Loyalty
IF the Liberal Party were a footy team and were 10 goals down kicking into the wind at time on in the last quarter Len Langan (The Examiner, September 8) would have absolutely no doubts about their superiority.
Such loyalty however is not reflected in his team who having drafted marquee spearhead Malcolm Turnbull only to find veteran attacking defenders refused to pass him the ball.
Having also played the man all season in Bill Shorten it would appear to even their most ardent supporters that their real problems are much closer to home.

AFL Name Change
NEW name for Geelong Cats - Geelong Meteorites.
Burn brightly briefly before finals and then disappear.

Statewide Football
AS A dedicated TSL football supporter, I totally agree with the comments made by North Launceston Football Club President Thane Brady (The Examiner, September 6).
I along with many other supporters watch footy every week.
The development league with young inspiring footballers and then the statewide seniors.
We don’t go to watch the TSLW because they do not play their games on a Saturday with the men.
I then, can’t understand why the AFL Tasmania bureaucracy would give the TSLW the privilege of playing on grand final day between the development and senior games.
Firstly after putting up with watching them last year, they are limited with their ability and skill level apart from a small minority.
Don’t shoot the messenger because Thane is expressing what I believe most coaches, along with many supporters are also thinking.
Thane and his staff shouldn’t be bombarded with hate calls for expressing an opinion. At least he is the head of a very successful football club of which should be noted. Go Bombers.
