She is now channeling the experience into a healthy and social past time by taking part in the Women’s 5K walk/run on September 16.
An initiative of the Cancer Council, the annual event is designed to raise funds and community awareness for all forms of cancer.
Mrs Luttrell will be joined by fellow breast cancer survivors for the run/walk, with the group naming themselves the booby bunch.
She said it was a nice way to spend part of the weekend.
“Everyone just gets together and has a chat,” she said.
“We are not competing with each other in any way.
“It’s just a fun, social event which is usually followed by us all having a coffee together.”
Last year’s event featured 1797 participants and raised more than $76,000.
The Women’s 5km walk/run commences at 10am, starting and finishing in City Park, Launceston. For more information about the event, go to womens5k.com.
