Two of the seven season deciders at UTAS Stadium were decided by one kick.
Longford took out the under-16 division 1 in clinical fashion to prevail 9.13 (67) to 5.10 (40) over North Launceston. Longford’s Jack Ross was awarded the best-on-ground medal for the day.
But the under 16 division 2 grand final was a nailbiter.
Prospect hung on to win 8.7 (55) against Tamar 7.9 (51), despite Sam Sherriff’s standout game adjudged the the best in a losing side.
Tamar also managed to get over the line 5.4 (34) to North Launceston 5.2 (32) to claim the 14-17 girls title. Tamar’s Makenna Hillier was named the best afield.
Launceston proved too good 6.8 (44) to Prospect 3.1 (19) in the under-14 division 1 decider. Best player was Launceston’s Liam Jones.
In the under 14 division 2 grand final, Deloraine kicked away to a 9.2 (56) to East Coast Giants 6.7 (43). Deloraine’s Ryan Drake was named best on ground.
North Launceston proved too good for South Launceston in the under-12 division 1 clash, 5.4 (34) to 2.2 (14). North Launceston’s Rylee McHenry was best afield.
East Coast Giants won over George Town, 2.5 (17) to 1.3 (9), in the under 12 division 2 title. Best player was East Coast Giants’ Tadhg Blunt.
