Nine-month-old Sienna Plumbridge has a genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis type one, which causes tumours to grow along her nervous system.
A lump was found on Sienna’s neck when she was just two weeks old.
She has been living at the Royal Children’s Hospital while her parents Jak Plumbridge and Rachel Gatti have been travelling between Melbourne and their Ravenswood home.
The club was packed to support the young family, with more than 140 people attending the fundraiser.
Mr Plumbridge said he was grateful for their support as his daughter continued to fight.
“It will definitely help us out a lot,” he said.
“We don’t know anyone in Melbourne.”
He travelled down especially to attend the event.
Sienna has been putting on more weight, he said.
“She’s doing alright.”
She needed to remain on a breathing machine, as a tumour wrapped around her spinal chord was pressing on her airway, he said.
The next step was for Sienna to have an MRI in May to find out what they can do, Mr Plumbridge said.
Juanita Simpson organised the event, which featured performances by band Apache and Gary Pengally.
“We’ve had a lot of cash donations,” Mrs Simpson said.
“Whatever we make goes towards whatever Jak needs for Sienna.”
The donations will also help the family pay their bills.
Mrs Simpson said anyone who wanted to help the young family could contact her at My Charity Shop by calling 0456914907.
