What started out as a regular check-up at a vet clinic at Scottsdale saw Michael save the life of a fellow canine.
"Whilst Michael was being prepped for surgery, another animal came into the clinic in a bad way and required an urgent blood transfusion,” Ms Jesson said. “It was Mikey to the rescue.”
Ms Jesson said Michael donated blood and not only saved the day, “but a life”.
“What a champion. We’re very proud of him.”
The heroic pup went on a family trial on Sunday.
The sanctuary was home to 50 kittens, seven cats, alongside puppies and dogs.
