A man allegedly assaulted a 48-year-old woman in broad daylight in Hobart on Saturday, before stealing her handbag.

The man, described as between 20 and 30 year years of age, was alleged to have committed the robbery at 3.48pm in the Hobart suburb of Goodwood.
The woman was shaken from the incident, but did not suffer any physical injuries, according to Tasmania Police.
The police said the man in question was about 180cm tall and of medium build, had brown hair and was wearing a green hooded jumper, blue jeans, a blue cap and was possible wearing a grey face mask.
He was last seen running from the Negara Crescent area, toward Acton Crescent.
