Northern Midlands Council took to social media to voice its disappointment about the damage to the toilets at Valentine Park.
“The individuals cut the power cords to the hand dryers and have graffitied the walls and mirrors throughout,” the post read.
“Our works department has spent many months working to provide these new facilities, in response to requests from the community. It is infuriating that resources now need to be redirected to cover the costs of cleaning and repairs.”
The post was shared nearly 100 times on Wednesday, with readers expressing their own “disgust” at the vandalism.
“So disappointing for the community and the council staff who worked so hard on the improvements,” Chris Robinson wrote.
The toilet extension cost more than $300,000.
Anyone with information has been asked to contact police on 131 444.
