Pizza Hut plans to re-open North and North-West stores under new ownership

FIVE Pizza Hut stores across the North and North-West have closed. All three Northern stores, at Kings Meadows, Brisbane St and Mowbray, plus the sole outlets at Burnie and Devonport, are shut with notices placed on the window to advise customers. A Pizza Hut spokeswoman yesterday confirmed the stores in Launceston were closed after being placed into voluntary receivership by the franchisee-owner and issued an apology to their customers. "We are confident of having the stores reopening under new ownership soon," she said. However, Pizza Hut's parent company, Yum Restaurants International, did not comment when asked what had happened to staff from each of the stores.
