
THE 55-YEAR-OLD partner of Hobart medical physicist Robert Chappell, who has been missing since January 27, has been charged with his murder.
Susan Blyth Neill-Fraser, of West Hobart, appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court this afternoon charged with murdering Mr Chappell on or about January 26 this year.
Ms Fraser was not represented and was remanded to appear again at 2.15pm tomorrow.
Mr Chappell, who was the chief medical physicist at the Royal Hobart Hospital, disappeared from his 14m yacht
Four Winds which was moored off Marieville Esplanade, at Sandy Bay.
Detective Inspector Peter Powell, of Hobart CIB, said the arrest came as a result of a long and thorough investigation into the circumstances of Mr Chappell's disappearance.
