A Department of State Growth spokeswoman said the project was “progressing on schedule”.
“The beams for the new bridge near the Breadalbane roundabout have been erected recently, and works will begin on the bridge deck shortly,” she said.
“Traffic is now using the new section of highway between the north end of Perth and Devon Hills, and traffic will be progressively moved onto sections of the new highway as they are completed.”
People are being asked to drive with care and attention through the roadworks over the colder period.
“Works at the Perth to Breadalbane site will continue through the winter months, and motorists are reminded to slow down and comply with all speed limits and traffic management when travelling through the site,” the spokeswoman said.

The Perth to Breadalbane project is expected to be completed early next year.
It is part of the state government’s Midland Highway 10-Year Action Plan.
