Encore Theatre Company held their first full dress rehearsal of production Wicked on Sunday ahead of opening night.
Director Liz Bennett said being able to work on the show in Launceston was amazing.
“It’s exciting because we moved from our rehearsal venue in to the beautiful Princess Theatre and putting our costumes and props and of course our beautiful set and lighting in for the first time,” Bennett said.
The production is made up of local performers.
“It’s made up of 40 cast members all who are local, although a couple of them have come home from Melbourne … which is really exciting,” Bennett said.
Bennett believes the success of the production lies within the story line.
“It’s a story about sticking up for what you believe in, friendship and sometimes the disappointments in friendships and that’s something I think we can all relate to,” she said.
The show opens on Friday night and runs until March 18. Tickets from theatrenorth.com.au from $34.
