Surrounded by brilliant blooming begonias, Peter Bugg can point to the flowers he bred himself, such as the white-and-pink ‘Eileen Ruby’, named after his mother.
Mr Bugg doesn’t remember when his interest turned into a passion, but as the gardener behind the Begonia Extravaganza held at Hadspen’s Entally House on Sunday, that passion shows no sign of easing.
“[Begonias] just fascinated me,” Mr Bugg said.
“The colour, the variety. You never know quite what you’re going to get.”
The Begonia Extravaganza was hosted by Friends of Entally to raise funds for the upkeep of Entally House, attracting tour groups and visitors from across the state to the beautiful old property.
