The brothers, who go to Riverside Primary, may barrack for different teams, but sheer enthusiasm for the game kept them happy on the night.
Decked out in their team colours with guernseys and hats, the brothers were enthusiastic about their teams.
“I like Luke Hodge because he’s the main one I know,” nine-year-old Ewan said.
While Ewan may not have a football career in his sights, his younger brother already shows a passion for the game that may take him far.
Nate, six-years-old, was quite happy to rattle off the names of half of the Geelong team as he watched the Cats give Hawthorn a run for their money through a fierce game.
“I like number four Andrew Mackie, Joel Selwood, Tom Hawkins ...” Nate said – but he may need to have a word to his favourite players after they were edged by Hawthorn by just four points.
