More than 35 people including police officers, forensics and volunteers from the State Emergency Services conducted a search focusing in a bush land area.
58-year-old Noel Joseph Ingham was last seen visiting his doctor on July 22.
Mr Ingham has been missing for more than 3 months.
Detective Senior Sergeant David Chapman said as a result of the investigations at the Central Coast Resource Recovery Centre in October, information has lead them to a new site.
“We did some inquiries at the Ulverstone tip, following that we got some information so we are now conducting a search of an area around 150 hectares looking for evidence of Mr Ingham,” Detective Senior Sergeant Chapman said.
Police searched the tip site for several days Detective Senior Sergeant Chapman would not disclose their findings.
“I am not going to comment on what we have or have not found, as a result of that we have got information that is why we are here,” he said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chapman said a body was one of a number of things police and SES were searching for at the site near Railton Road.
“We did receive information, we have come here and we have found items of interest, and we have searchers searching and a forensic team analysing the items that we have found,” he said.
As investigations continue, police have not ruled out foul play.
“We do hold very grave fears, there has been nothing to allay those fears, you can not rule anything out,” Detective Senior Sergeant Chapman said.
“We have had quite a lot of new information and we are following specific leads of inquiry – there are a number of people we need to speak to.”
Police expect the search to continue for two or three days.
Tasmania Police are in close contact with Mr Ingham’s family in Queensland as the investigations continue.
