Carlton was delighted when he won and said the win was “pretty special”.
“I wanted to go out there and be myself, because every auctioneer has their own style and that’s what I did,” he said.
Mr Heres became involved with auctioneering after a six week course was run at his school, Scotch Oakburn.
“I just want to encourage anyone to participate in this valuable course and competition, it’s not just about learning to auction … you certainly grow as a person, I know I have,” Carlton said.
Carlton thanked everyone involved in getting him prepared for, and to, the championship.
