Chief magistrate to take on new court role

Mr Brett will take on the new role after serving as a magistrate for six years and holding the chief magistrate role since September last year.
Mr Brett will start in his new role on July 11 and the process of determining a new chief magistrate will commence shortly, the government said on Monday.
Mr Brett has been part of Tasmania’s legal fraternity for 16 years and Queensland’s for 13 years.
