Tasmania Police responded to reports of multiple gunshots being fired into the front of a home in Boondar Street, Chigwell about 11.40pm.
Police believe the minor damage caused to the home was inflicted by a ``small calibre weapon’’.
There were three people inside the house at the time, however no one was injured.
``Investigations are underway including a forensics examination at the scene,’’ Detective Sergeant David Gill said on Wednesday morning.
``Early investigations suggest this incident was a result of a dispute between two parties known to one another, and police are following up specific avenues of enquiry in relation to this matter.’’
Police are seeking any information regarding the incident, in particular information about vehicles that were seen in the street just prior to the incident.
Any witnesses or those with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Glenorchy Criminal Investigation Branch on 6173 2639.
