Devonport detectives continue to investigate Tuesday's abduction and sexual assault of the 12-year-old girl.
Detective Inspector Robert Gunton said the girl told police that her attacker's vehicle had sliding doors on both sides and a child booster seat fitted to the middle row of seats.
"The fact that there is a child booster seat in the vehicle indicates that the offender may have a partner and at least one child," he said.
"If this is the case then the partner or other family members may well already have suspicions that they know who committed this crime.
"We would like to hear from anyone who has suspicions about the identity of the offender, no matter how small they believe their suspicions may be."
Forensic evidence is being analysed and police continue to doorknock in the Latrobe area.
CCTV footage from the Latrobe town centre is also being reviewed.

The assailant forced the girl into his dark grey people-mover when she was walking along a grassed area in south Latrobe on Tuesday afternoon.
He drove to Old Deloraine Road at Latrobe, stopped his vehicle on the side of the gravel road and sexually assaulted the girl.
The attacker then drove to Shale Road at Latrobe where he released the child.
The man is described as having a thin build, about 175 centimetres tall, with a pale complexion and clean shaven.
His grey-hooded windcheater has grey checks, with some black.
The hood covered the man's hair.
Police have released images of a car similar to the man's vehicle, as well as a photofit image of him.
They urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
