The gallery at the corner of Brisbane and Tamar streets has been decorated with the 32 entries into the 2014 Tasmanian Architecture Awards, with projects ranging from high-profile tourism projects, community facilities, and residencies.
Categories include public architecture, urban design, interior architecture, heritage, commercial, and residential.
Notable entries include the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery's renovations, the University of Tasmania's Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, and the redevelopment of Hobart's Macquarie Wharf.
Inspiration for prospective first home buyers and builders with cash to spare can be found in six new residential homes and two home refurbishments that have been entered into the awards this year.
Australian Institute of Architects' state president Andrew Williamson said Tasmania had produced nationally renowned iconic buildings and public spaces over the years, and the entrants to this year's awards were no exception.
The public can decide on what they consider to be the best examples of Tasmanian architecture for the past year by voting in the People's Choice Award online at http://wp.?jlarchitecture.com.au/tasawards.
Entries will be on display at the Design Tasmania Centre from May 6 to 18.
