Cityprom has recently launched its new Switch on the City campaign in partnership with the Hawthorn Football Club and is giving free Hawthorn window kits to shops in the CBD.
Cityprom executive officer Vanessa Cahoon said stores could use the kits, which include flags, posters, balloons and stickers, plus whatever else they wanted to create a Hawthorn-themed window.
``We want to create an exciting vibe and atmosphere in Launceston around game time and ensure that everyone that is part of the Hawthorn experience comes away with great memories,'' she said.
Tourism Northern Tasmania chief executive Chris Griffin said the more the city gets excited about AFL game weekends, the more tourists will be encouraged to stay longer and come again to the lively city.
The business with the best display for each game will win five A-reserve tickets to the game and a Cityprom hospitality package.
A Hawthorn representative will visit each business on the Friday before the game to announce the winner.
Entries for this week's game so far are Harris Scarfe, Launceston Sport and Surf, Haab Design Jewellers, Gourlay's and Balls n Bumpers.
Hawthorn will play Brisbane in its round one AFL clash at Aurora Stadium on Saturday.
