Rotarians will control the car park at the Josef Chromy event on Saturday and ask people for a gold coin donation to park.
They will also wander through the grounds collecting money in Winter Relief Appeal tins.
The appeal raises money for the St Vincent de Paul Society, the Benevolent Society, the Salvation Army and City Mission and won't be officially launched until May 19.
Rotarian Alan Harris said the club liked to get in early.
``It's a really good appeal to be involved in,'' Mr Harris said.
``And we're happy to be the first club to donate and to try and get others to match it.''
The club raised $4000 at the event last year and hopes to do the same on Saturday.
