A St Helens man charged with bashing a man over the head has pleaded not guilty in the Launceston Magistrate's Court today.

Jaydon Kyal Grimm, 21, of St Helens, faced one count of Criminal Code assault.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail by Magistrate Reg Marron.
He committed Mr Grimm to stand trial in the Launceston Supreme Court on April 28 at 10am.
The complainant, a St Helens man, 35, remains in a critical condition in the Royal Hobart Hospital.
