Together with his wife, Amanda, Mr Cowley devised the can drive.
``Basically, we try to make it as easy as we can for people to donate cans of food,'' Mr Cowley said.
``All they need to do is register online and we do all the hard work, like delivering boxes and picking them up when they're full - all people need to do is bring in one or two cans of food.''
Last year, Mr Cowley said about a shipping container full of canned food was donated to the Launceston Benevolent Society from about 180 participants.
``This year, we are hoping to get more than 180 teams involved,'' he said.
``Just think of the difference it would make if everyone in every Launceston work place donated one can of food.''
To register your business, school or organisation by July 13 visit www.zesttas.com.au. The drive will run until the end of the month.
