A house in Treherne Street at Mayfield has become the fourth house to be damaged by fire in less than a week.
About 9pm last night, Tasmania Fire Service received multiple triple zero calls and later arrived at the scene to find the house well alight.
Fire investigators remained at the scene at 10am Sunday, and the fire was not being treated as suspicious at that stage.
The house fire is the second at Mayfield in 24 hours.
Fire crews were called to a vacant house in Hargrave Crescent house just before 11pm, but police had already arrived and extinguished the fire.
It was now being investigated by police.
The Mayfield fires come after a fire at Ravenswood ravaged an unoccupied house in Rosetta Place, and firefighters saved a home from devastating damage on Warring Street, Ravenswood.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
