Having lost the likes of Taylor Whitford, Josh Ponting and Arion Richter-Salter in the off-season, many observers had North on the out but as good programs do, they found a way.
Fielding 19 debutants throughout the season, coach Brad Cox-Goodyer spoke to The Examiner about each one and what they've brought to the side.
Michael Stingel (19 games)
"There's not much more to say about Stinger. He's obviously won the Richardson Medal and in my opinion he's got draft-able attributes and it's just a shame he couldn't stick it out with the Devils this year. His speed and decision making is second to none and I'm very, very excited to see what he can do with a full year of senior footy under his belt because a lot of people forget he only played his first game of senior footy this year."
Ryan Whitney (18)
"Ryan's played all but one game and he's only missed that through injury. What Ryan brings is toughness on another level that I don't think anyone else has, he's as tough as they come and he loves the physical side of the game. Going into a grand final, that's going to be super important."
Brandon Leary (16)
"There's not much more to say about young Brandon. He's electric in front of goals, he obviously came second in the league goal-kicking only playing 15 [regular season] games. He's got a massive future ahead of him and hopefully he's in the Devils program next year."

Declen Chugg (13)
"Declen is the son of Mark, a former North Launceston great. I love Declen, his work ethic is second to none and he's got a bit of fire about him which I love and I fully suspect he will be a regular senior player next year onwards."
Harry Bayles (10)
"Baz is fully in the senior squad and pretty unlucky not to play on the weekend. He tore the development league prelim final apart and he's got some special attributes, it's just about being more consistent with him. I think you'll see him feature at senior level quite often next year."
Harvey Griffiths (10)
"Harvey crossed from Launceston at the start of the year, seeking greater opportunity in the senior side of things and he obviously got that. I think it's just a confidence thing with Harvey, he's a strongly-built boy and if he can bring the confidence he does at development league level into the senior side, he's going to be a very good player."
Judah Edmunds (10)
"Judah is the younger brother of Will and has played some great footy at the back end of the year as a back-up ruckman and a floating forward. He's aggressive, he tackles hard and he's very important to us going forward. He was obviously a bit late getting into the senior side with a few injuries but ever since he's come in there was no way he's going out."
Oscar Van Dam (10)
"Oscar is a very well-built young man, he's only 16 years of age in year 10 at Queechy. He's got a very good footy brain, he reads the game really well, he doesn't panic under pressure. He played a fair bit of senior footy this year as a young man so he'll be in the Devils program and we are looking forward to watching him develop."
Blade Sulzberger (seven)
"Blade is obviously in the Devils program, he played good DLs footy last year, he's a strong body and a very good size for a young man. He's on an upwards trajectory and developing in the next couple of years, he's going to be a very good player."
Lockie Mitchell (six)
"Lockie won the under-18 best and fairest last year and his development throughout the year has been great. He got a senior debut in round two, played pretty well and rode a few inconsistent ups and downs throughout the year but his back-end of the year has been phenomenal at development league level and he's got a very, very bright future ahead of him as well."
Darcy Layh (five)
"Darcy was originally at the club a couple of years ago, he headed back to George Town and decided to make the move back in which obviously paid dividends with him getting a senior debut. He was going really well until he fractured his wrist, which was a shame for him."
Theo Ives (four)
"Theo is a young, developing tall. He was obviously in the Devils program and played a few games there, we just had to switch around and find the right position for him because we played key back and then we tried him in the ruck. What we found when we put him into the ruck was that his competitiveness is really good and once the ball hits the ground, he's like another midfielder."
Bailey Mitchell (four)
"Bailey actually started the year in the under-18s and progressed quite quickly and then we thought we would play him in the DLs. He was at the level where we thought 'he might have to play seniors here' and he did in the end. He's got some genuine leg speed and is a great kid."
Alistair Bourne (three)
"Bourney has come through the ranks, he's played development league for a couple of years now. He's a very dependable small defender and he's a great person as well who goes about his business without saying much."
Andy Potter (three)
"Andy is a young tall forward who is a little bit inconsistent but on his day, he's got really sticky mitts and kicks his goals."
Angus Jefferies (three)
"Gus is a livewire, he's got genuine speed and he's got a few tricks up his sleeve and he showed that in patches earlier in the year but unfortunately he got injured a couple of times and wasn't able to continue through."
Connor Leeflang (two)
"Connor is very new to football, he's only played football for two years and he's a young 17-year-old but he's got some great height. He's obviously a bit slighter framed but he's very raw, he's got some great talent and now he's got one year of development league football under his belt, we are looking for big things over the summer and he'll probably be in the Devils program as well."
Ethan Hubbard (two)
"Hubs is another one who's got a very bright future ahead of him. He played 18s last year and quickly developed into a very good development league player. He's got great composure for a young defender having only just turned 18."
Jacob Kerr (two)
"Kerry is the development league captain and he's kind of the spiritual leader of the club. He's a great guy, he's always got a smile on his face, he's always happy to have a chat with anyone. He's also a very dependable defender and he's the type of person you want around the football club."
