Welcome to Travelways,
Spring is said to be about new beginnings, and after a tough winter that has included border closures and plenty of cancelled plans we are happy to see the sun shining again.
If you look outside, everything is slowly unfurling: the sky is blue, the days stretch longer and there's high-definition colour everywhere.
Tasmania never looks better than at this time of the year when its many gardens are full of frothy blooms. Garden lovers are in for a treat this year with many of the state's favourite events returning after 2020s cancellations.
Tasmania's much-loved Craft Fair, the largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, also returns this November in a celebration of everything handmade.
Check out page 23 for a guide of where to go and what to see to celebrate the best of them.
This is also a time when the state's calendar begins to fill up. In this edition we're taking a look at some of the best festivals and events, from the Unconformity on the West Coast (pages 10-11) to the state's celebration of everything sparkling wine at Effervescence Tasmania (page 9).

Art lovers shouldn't miss a visit to Launceston's QVMAG where the rehang that refocuses the narrative on more inclusive stories is making waves.
In this edition we're also taking you to Mount William National Park to explore this little-visited corner of Tasmania and discover its best camping spots and activities.
As far as new beginnings go, no one does it better than Tasmania.
No matter if you're here for a weekend or longer, enjoy exploring the many hidden corners dotted throughout this magnificent island.
