After a three-week break, high-flying State League side Northern Hawks and Cavaliers will host simultaneous clashes at the Silverdome this weekend. Reigning premiers Northern Hawks will meet Karana on Saturday afternoon and Kingston on Sunday morning, with 2019 champions Cavaliers hosting Cripps and Karana in the same timeslots. Australian musician Paul Dempsey will perform at Albert Hall on July 17. The show will be the first Launceston solo event since 2019, and second in Tasmania only to the Friday evening show in Hobart. The event is a forerunner to Something For Kate hitting the road again later in the year.

Coffee and Chrome has been organised by the Monaro and GM Club of Tasmania to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the HQ Holden. The car was released on July 15, 1971, and marketed with the catch-line 'It makes you enjoy motoring all over again'. There will be a street display at Bathurst Street Car Park, Launceston, with coffee and food vans on site. The event is open to the community and all Holden models are welcome to attend.
