1. State Netball
July 17, 4pm and July 18, 11am
After a three-week break, high-flying State League side Northern Hawks and Cavaliers will host simultaneous clashes at the Silverdome this weekend. Reigning premiers Northern Hawks will meet Karana on Saturday afternoon and Kingston on Sunday morning, with 2019 champions Cavaliers hosting Cripps and Karana in the same timeslots. Tickets at the door.
2. Woolmers Series
July 17, 11am and 2.30pm
The Nigel Peck Centre at the historic Woolmers Estate will come alive with chamber music performed by musicians from the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra on Saturday. The musicians will be joined by acclaimed associate artists. Tickets and more information are available on the TSO website.
3. Paul Dempsey
July 17, tickets via Oztix
Australian musician Paul Dempsey will perform at Albert Hall on July 17. The show will be the first Launceston solo event since 2019, and second in Tasmania only to the Friday evening show in Hobart. The event is a forerunner to Something For Kate hitting the road again later in the year.
4. Harvest Market

Every Saturday the tasty Harvest Market takes over the Cimitiere Street parking area to share fresh food and produce. Discover a wide range of vendors and local brands to support.
5. QVMAG Planetarium
July 17, 2pm-2.45pm
Black Holes will show at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery Launceston Planetarium on Saturday. Discover the mystery and beauty of black holes, and have questions such as what is a black hole and how do we find them answered.
6. Stelo's Oscura
Sunday's from May-August, free to enter but tickets required
A secret Sunday night speakeasy will pop up in Launceston from May until August. A map will lead to a dimly-lit doorway for entry. Prohibition inspired cocktails, limited release Tasmanian wines, local brews and Stelo snacks will be on offer. Visit eventbrite to get tickets.
7. Holden celebrations
July 18, 10am-2pm, free admission
Coffee and Chrome has been organised by the Monaro and GM Club of Tasmania to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the HQ Holden. The car was released on July 15, 1971, and marketed with the catch-line 'It makes you enjoy motoring all over again'. There will be a street display at Bathurst Street Car Park, Launceston, with coffee and food vans on site. The event is open to the community and all Holden models are welcome to attend.
