Ange Dickson's troops travel to North Hobart Oval to face the Southern side on Sunday after going down by 20 points to the NWFL.

Despite the disappointment of the loss, Dickson and her side were able to take some positives out of the game.

"I think for us as a group, how we played out that second half and finished off the game is something we are quite proud of," she said.

"We are hoping this Sunday that we are able to start the game how we finished.

"I think overall we were pretty happy with our first hit-out and we matched the North-West if not beat them in most of the stats, which we didn't capitalise on so we'll be looking to have a bit more forward pressure and hopefully utilise that and get some goals on the board."

Saying "it was coming out as quick [of the forward line] as it went in", the Northern representative side will change things up this weekend as they attempt to get more than three goals on the board.

Cecilia Cameron, Danielle Kelly, Hayley Breward, Madeline Fry and the competition's leading goalkicker Emily McKinnell will come into the side at the expense of Hayley Whyte, Letitia Johnston, Madi Shaw (all emergencies), Zoe Bourne (unavailable) and Taylor Ronken (omitted).

"We're looking to add a bit more height in our forward line and a bit more speed and defensive pressure in our forward half," Dickson said.

"We've actually introduced a few defenders into our forward line just to hopefully lock that ball in and give our forwards the opportunity to damage on the scoreboard."

The NTFAW's best players against the North-West featured a mixture of youth and experience with Ella Maurer, Dearne Taylor, Alex Hall, Meg Sinclair, Jemma Blair and Aprille Crooks impressing the coaching staff.

To kick off the representative series, The SFL were defeated by the NWFL to the tune of 13 points, with the Northern side attending the game and taking notes before their clashes against both sides.

"I'm assuming like us, they were probably disappointed with the loss and will be looking to come out and play a better style of footy," Dickson said.

"The last game was kind of a dump-kick game of footy, they were just picking it up and throwing it on the boot and the North-West were intercepting it, so I assume they'll be looking to play a more controlled style and get a better outcome just like us."
