Jockey Ismail Toker had Turk Warrior under a tight hold outside the leader until well into the home straight when the Outreach gelding accelerated clear to score by 3-1/4 lengths.

It was Turk Warrior's fifth win from as many starts and his average winning margin is exactly three lengths.

Stevenson said the gelding, who hadn't raced since February 21, had returned from his short break in good order but very big.

"He took a bit of work to trim up," the trainer said.

"He had a decent blow after his trial at Longford (last Tuesday) and I actually get a bit worried when they're so big and burly and blow like that.

"But he's quite obviously come on from that.

"I'm pretty happy with what he did today and he's going to improve a lot."

Stevenson said the $50,000 Sires Produce at Elwick in a fortnight was Turk Warrior's likely next step but it wasn't set in concrete.

"We could do something else ... we'll have a look," he said.

"An interstate run is in our minds, of course, and we'll probably have a talk about that tonight."

Algernon maintained his unbeaten record in four starts on the Elwick track with a tough win in the $50,000 Tasbred 3YO.

Brendon McCoull gave the Imogen Miller-trained gelding a nice run in third place and he finished strongly to beat Thunberg, who raced outside the leader, by a head.
