The round robin contest was always close with Bill Mainwaring, of Victoria, taking top place with eight wins from Rob MacAdam, of Kingston, on seven, with North Esk's Ruth McKean third on six.
Division two was a thriller with all matches close.
Paul Boer, of North Esk, and Ian Pitt, of Victoria, won four matches each, with Boer winning outright thanks to 10 net points.
Division three was won outright by Kay Elliot, of New South Wales, with eight wins.
Kerrie Lyndon, also of New South Wales, and Devonport's Robin O Reilly vied for second place with four wins each, Lyndon edging it with five extra net points.
Northern Tasmanian Croquet Centre Committee promotions officer Lee Turner said the tournament was held in ideal conditions at the St Leonards centre with a high standard of play in all divisions.
It will continue with a two-day round robin doubles handicap event.
