Police have closed the off-ramp from the Bass Highway to Old Surrey Road for about half an hour while the evasion investigation continues.
The two men who fled the scene of a car crash earlier this morning have been found in scrub at South Burnie Beach.
Police said they arrested the men without incident.
EARLIER:
Two men are wanted in the South Burnie area after they evaded police and crashed a car.
A Tasmania Police spokesperson said police attempted to intercept a red dual cab Holden Crewman utility in the Burnie area early on Tuesday morning but the vehicle sped away.
"About 8.15am today, police again attempted to intercept the vehicle, but the vehicle once again evaded police," the spokesperson said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"A short time later, the vehicle was located crashed, with two men seen to be running from the scene, east of the old Pulp Mill on Old Surrey Road, near South Burnie Beach."
One of the men is described as wearing dark clothing with a mask and the other is described as having a large build.
Members of the public are asked not to approach the men, and are asked to stay away from the South Burnie Beach area.
