The visitors would lose to the second-placed Devils 8-0.
Gorillas acting head coach Brett Wheldon said it was a defensive battle for most of the game before the Devils put together the game's only scoring drive late in the third.
Elsewhere in sport:
He said Gorillas defensive lineman Alipate Tokomaata and Aisea Maile, as well as linebackers Jack Briggs and Nate Wynder stood out on the day.
He added that runningback Josh Smith, as usual, played well on offence as did backup quarterback Tyler James who remained under centre with Ged Watts still injured.
Despite the loss, the Gorillas remain in third-place and in contention for the Tiger Bowl.
The league will enter a hiatus until early January, when the North versus South rivalry match will be held at Royal Park.
