After a season-long haunting by Glenorchy, the Blues women knuckled down and handled the visitors en route to a 2.1 (13) to 0.6 (6) premiership win.
Head coach Ange Dickson said she was ecstatic to see the lessons learnt by the team result in victory.
"We've been training since November last year so it's been almost 12 months waiting for this moment again - I'm just so over the moon and I'm so glad we were able to do it today," she said.
In other news:
As predicted, the midfield saw most of the action, with heated tooing and froing by both sides seeing only a mere three points at the end of the first quarter.
This was aided by all-rounder Cecilia Cameron, who scored the first goal in the contest early in the second courtesy of some solid connections in the midfield.
Then things started getting rolling, with recent AFLW draftee Brooke Brown kicking the game's only other goal after getting some separation.
